During December 2014, NLC Boston was excited to take part in CityAwake, a city-wide event organized in part by NLC Boston 2013 alumn, Justin Kang. City Awake was a 10- day-long social impact festival focused on catalyzing Boston's diverse community of world-class for-impact institutions and leaders. Taking place from December 4th through the 13th, City Awake brought together 235 partner organization, hosting 92 events from panels to workshops to networking nights, for a festival celebrating and connecting Boston’s vibrant impact community. NLC was a proud supporter and partner of City Awake, joining in several events and getting to know a number of organizations who will hopefully be partners for a long time to come.
Most exciting, NLC partnered with two other organizations to co-host a micro-volunteering and networking event on December 10th, Socializ ing for Social Impact. Along with One Brick Boston, an organization dedicated to creating social and flexible volunteer opportunities, and Building Impact, a nonprofit that partners with Boston-area companies and their employees to make volunteering more accessible, the event was hosted by local microbrewery, Slumbrew, at their new location in Assembly Square, American Fresh.
